Report: Jets' Redmond to miss rest of season @NHLdotcom

The Winnipeg Free Press reported Friday that Winnipeg Jets defenseman Zach Redmond will miss the remainder of the season recovering from a skate cut to his right leg sustained during practice Thursday.

Redmond was stepped on a by a teammate, with the player's skate blade cutting into the femoral artery and vein.

"We were trying to get our extra players conditioned, and there was a 1-on-1 battle at the net where he tripped up and landed on his back," Jets coach Claude Noel said. "[Another] player happened to step on him and cut him just above the back of the knee."
