Report: Franzen replaces Holmstrom for Sweden @NHLdotcom
According to a report in Sweden's Expressen, the Red Wings' Tomas Holmstrom has had to drop out of the 2010 Olympics because of a left knee injury and will be replaced by Detroit teammate Johan Franzen.

Franzen has played only three games since returning from knee surgery, which idled him for four months.

"It would mean a lot," Franzen said Saturday of the possibility of joining Sweden in Vancouver. "It's four years until the next one and I'm not sure not where I'm at then. I could be hurt again. So maybe this is my only chance. I would really like to go."

Franzen wasn't originally named to the team in December because Swedish officials did not expect him to return before the Olympics.
