Gamers who use Xbox One and PlayStation 4 can register for EA SPORTS NHL 17 public beta, which will allow them to test out NHL 17 before its release Sept. 13. To register for beta, visit www.easports.com/nhl/beta.
Players can register for beta between now and July 14; beta is scheduled to begin July 28 and run through Aug. 4. Those who register will be able to test out three playable game modes as well as receive early access to news, trailers and information.
The three game modes include Online Versus, EA SPORTS Hockey League and Hockey Ultimate Team.
"Last year we held our first ever beta and the feedback we received from fans helped us create a great experience at launch," Lead Producer Sean Ramjagsingh said. "For NHL 17 we're opening up access to more players and we can't wait for them to get their hands on the game."
Other features coming to NHL 17 include Draft Champions, Franchise Mode, World Cup of Hockey modes, more depth and customization in EA Sports Hockey League and new goal celebrations.
St. Louis Blues forward Vladimir Tarasenko was voted NHL 17 cover athlete, edging out runner-up Joe Pavelski of the San Jose Sharks.
"It's an incredible honor to represent my teammates and all the Blues fans around the world on the cover this year," Tarasenko said. "As a player, it's a big deal to be fan selected for something like the Cover Vote, and I'm excited to be involved in the game this year."
