Regin signs one-year contract to stay with Blackhawks @NHLdotcom

The Chicago Blackhawks re-signed free-agent forward Peter Regin to a one-year contract Tuesday, and also signed forwards Cody Bass and Pierre-Cedric Labrie and goaltender Scott Darling to one-year contracts. Financial terms of the contracts were not released.

Regin, 28, was acquired by the Blackhawks from the New York Islanders on Feb. 6 and had two goals and four points in 17 regular-season games, and no points in five Stanley Cup Playoff games.

He had four goals and 11 points in 61 games between the Islanders and Blackhawks.

In six seasons with the Ottawa Senators, Islanders and Blackhawks, Regin has 23 goals and 66 points in 239 regular-season games and three goals and four points in 11 playoff games.

Darling, 25, is a native of nearby Lemont, Ill. He went 13-6-2 with a 2.00 goals-against average, .933 save percentage and six shutouts in 26 games with the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League, the Nashville Predators' top affiliate.

Bass, 27, played in one game for the Columbus Blue Jackets and had eight goals, 18 points and 132 penalty minutes in 58 games with the Springfield Falcons, the team's AHL affiliate.

Labrie, 27, had 20 penalty minutes and a minus-4 rating in 13 games with the Tampa Bay Lightning last season, and six points and 112 penalty minutes in 38 games with the Syracuse Crunch, the Lightning's AHL affiliate.
