Regan's overtime goal propels Oshawa to 3-2 victory over Plymouth @NHLdotcom

OSHAWA, Ont. - Eric Regan scored on the power play 46 seconds into overtime to lift the Oshawa Generals to a 3-2 win over the Plymouth Whalers.

Dale Mitchell and Brett Parnham had two points each for the Generals, including the tying goal by Mitchell midway through the game.

Brett MacLean opened the scoring just 1:38 in, his OHL-leading 37th goal of the season, but later left with concussion-like symptoms after being hit by Plymouth's Vern Smith.

The Generals were already without OHL points leader John Tavares, who is with the Canadian junior team.

Chris Terry had a goal and an assist for the Whalers, including the go-ahead marker early in the second period. A.J. Jenks scored the other Plymouth goal.

Daryl Borden made 28 saves in net for Oshawa, while Jeremy Smith stopped 26 shots for the Whalers.

Both Plymouth goals came on the power play, where they had six chances. The Generals were 1-for-5 with the man advantage.
