Reese's hat trick powers Americans to 5-1 win over Winter Hawks

KENNEWICK, Wash. - Jason Reese had a hat trick and an assist to lead the Tri-City Americans to a 5-1 Western Hockey League victory over the Portland Winter Hawks on Friday night at Toyota centre.

Reese, who has four goals this season, scored even-strength, power-play and short-handed goals for the Americans (11-3-0-0), who have won five straight and 20 consecutive regular-season games at home dating back to last season.

Shaun Vey and Petr Stoklasa also scored for the Americans, who got 23 saves from Chet Pickard (10-1).

Luke Walker scored Portland's lone goal, while Jordan White finished with 35 saves.

The loss drops Portland to 2-10-0-0.
