DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings today signed left wing Eric Tangradi to a one-year contract. In accordance with club policy, additional details will not be disclosed.
Tangradi, 26, spent the 2014-15 campaign with the Montreal Canadiens' organization, logging 31 points (14-17-31) and 56 penalty minutes in 48 games with the AHL's Hamilton Bulldogs and adding 17 penalty minutes in seven games with the parent Canadiens. Over his six-season professional career, the 6-foot-4, 221-lb., winger has skated in 143 NHL games with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Winnipeg Jets and Canadiens, registering 15 points (5-10-15) and 86 penalty minutes. He appeared in a career-high 55 NHL games with the Jets during the 2013-14 season, recording six points (3-3-6) and 21 penalty minutes. The Philadelphia native has also totaled 226 career AHL games between the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and Bulldogs, tallying 152 points (74-78-152) and 270 penalty minutes. The 2011 AHL All-Star also added 12 points (5-7-12) in 14 career Calder Cup playoff games.
