Red Wings re-sign Miele, McCollum @NHLdotcom

DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings today re-signed center Andy Miele and goaltender Tom McCollum to one-year contracts. In accordance with club policy, additional details will not be disclosed.

Miele, 27, was a 2015 AHL First-Team All-Star and 2014 AHL Second-Team All-Star. The Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich., native paced the Griffins with 70 points (26-44-70) in 71 games in 2014-15, finishing second overall in league scoring. He also ranked among team leaders with 26 goals (3rd), 44 assists (1st), 24 power-play points (1st), five game-winning goals (T2nd), three shootout goals (1st) and a 17.9 shooting percentage (3rd). Miele also finished second on Grand Rapids during the postseason with 14 points (3-11-14), helping the Griffins reach the Western Conference Finals for the second time in three seasons. In 280 career AHL games with the Griffins and Portland Pirates, the 5-foot-8, 175-lb., forward has registered 249 points (88-161-249) and 223 penalty minutes. He also skated in 15 career NHL games with the Phoenix Coyotes from 2011-14, picking up two assists and 11 penalty minutes.
