Red Wings' Lidstrom provides no clues about plans @NHLdotcom

ROMULUS, Mich. (AP) -Nicklas Lidstrom insists he hasn't thought about whether he will return to the Detroit Red Wings or retire.

The 40-year-old defenseman deflected every question from reporters about his future moments after getting off the team plane Sunday afternoon, about 15 hours after his season ended.

San Jose eliminated the Red Wings in Game 5 of their second-round series.

Detroit general manager Ken Holland says he wants Lidstrom back, hopes to meet with him within the next two weeks and needs an answer from him before free agency begins July 1.

Red Wings vice president Steve Yzerman says he enjoys working with the organization and is in no hurry to leave, adding he would love to run a team and would consider the right opportunity.
