Red Wings G Howard says he's calmer than last year @NHLdotcom

DETROIT (AP) - Red Wings goaltender Jimmy Howard says he feels calmer than he did as a rookie in the playoffs a year ago.

Detroit hopes that leads to a great performance Wednesday night at home against the Phoenix Coyotes in a first-round playoff rematch.

Phoenix forward Shane Doan says goalie Ilya Bryzgalov is probably the best player in the series and the Coyotes will be counting on him against Detroit's talented forwards.

The Red Wings will be without Henrik Zetterberg, whose injured left knee will keep him out of the series opener.
