Red Wings-Flames highlights hectic Thursday @NHL
Viewers across Canada will have the opportunity to see if the Detroit Red Wings can bounce back from an intense loss to the Vancouver Canucks as part of the NHL's eight-game schedule Thursday night.

Detroit (21-11-1), which failed to win its third straight Wednesday by losing 4-2 to the Canucks, will aim to rebound when they face the Calgary Flames at Scotiabank Saddledome. Opening faceoff is slated for 9:30 p.m. ET and can be seen in Canada on TSN. The Flames (15-15-4) are four points out of a playoff spot in the West.

Thursday's action gets under way with a pair of games at 7 p.m. ET. The New York Rangers return home to host the Islanders at Madison Square Garden, while the Buffalo Sabres visit the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Thirty minutes later, the Ottawa Senators will host the Florida Panthers at Scotiabank Place. Florida has a seven-point lead in the Southeast Division, while Ottawa is clinging on to the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

The Nashville Predators return to the ice at 8 p.m. ET, when they host the Columbus Blue Jackets at Bridgestone Arena. At 8:30 p.m. ET, the Winnipeg Jets will try to rebound from Tuesday night's shootout loss to the Isles as they host the Montreal Canadiens at the MTS Centre.

Calgary won't be the only team from Alberta in action Thursday night, as the Edmonton Oilers host the Minnesota Wild at Rexall Place. That game is slated to begin at 9:30 p.m. ET. Minnesota (20-10-5) will be aiming to avoid a three-game skid that includes a 2-1 loss at Calgary on Tuesday.

In the final game of the night, Darryl Sutter makes his debut as coach of the Los Angeles Kings as they face the Anaheim Ducks at 10 p.m. ET at the Staples Center. Anaheim (9-19-5) has lost three straight.
