The Almases thought they lucked out when a family friend gave them great seats to the Detroit Red Wings preseason game against the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday, but that was nothing compared to the photobomb they got in the third period.
Shannon Almas was positioning her 4-year-old daughter, Lylah, for a picture next to the Red Wings' penalty box with Dylan Larkin and Steve Ott serving minor penalties when she snapped the picture. Then she and her husband, Cary, saw the two players had looked over and smiled at just the right time.

"I think they just noticed we were taking it and once one of them looked, they both looked," Shannon Almas told NHL.com. "We were like 'Oh my gosh!' when we looked back at the pictures. 'They're literally both smiling!'"
Larkin is a family favorite because he and Cary Almas are both from Waterford, Michigan. Shannon, Cary, Lylah and 2-year-old Luca had all come to the game from their nearby home in Clawson, though the two kids were a little too young to grasp what had just happened.
The Red Wings shared the photo on their social media accounts and it's gotten over 17,000 likes on Instagram.
"She was obviously really excited when she saw it, but I don't think she realizes at her age how exciting it was," Shannon Almas said. "I kept telling her, 'You're famous! You don't care that you're famous?' and she's like 'Yeah, I don't care.' My husband and I are both freaking out and she's like, 'Meh.'"
Lylah might not realize it now, but one day when she's old enough, she'll know she was in the photo of a lifetime.
