Red-hot Canucks continue trip in New York @NHL
The New York Rangers are the next contestant in the quest to derail the Vancouver Canucks.

The leaders in the overall standings bring a 17-game non-losing streak in regulation into Thursday's game at Madison Square Garden as they continue their road trip. The Canucks got tested Tuesday night on Long Island but overcame a late deficit to win 4-3 in overtime, giving them a 14-0-3 record in their last 17 games. The Rangers saw their three-game winning streak end Tuesday when they lost 2-1 at home to the Montreal Canadiens.

The Canucks and Rangers are one of eight games on Thursday's NHL schedule, and one of four that get under way at 7 p.m. ET.

The No. 2 team in the NHL, the Eastern Conference-leading Philadelphia Flyers, go for their fifth win in a row when they visit Boston. The Flyers come to TD Garden after a 5-2 win at Buffalo on Tuesday, the same night the Bruins steamrolled the Ottawa Senators 6-0.

The Senators move on to Long Island in a game that can be seen in Canada on TSN and RDS, while the Sabres host Carolina, a 6-5 shootout winner against Calgary on Wednesday.

A half-hour later, the Nashville Predators go for their seventh win in a row when they visit Florida. Both teams won on Tuesday -- Nashville routed Minnesota 5-1 while the Panthers topped Washington 4-3 in overtime.

At 9 p.m. ET, Toronto goes for its fifth consecutive victory and a sweep of a three-game Western swing when the Leafs visit Phoenix. The Coyotes are back home after wins Monday at St. Louis and Tuesday at Columbus.

The last two games of the night get started at 10:30 p.m. ET. The Los Angeles Kings continue what's been a disappointing homestand when they host St. Louis. The Kings are just 1-5-0 on their eight-game homestand, including Monday's 3-2 loss to the Leafs. San Jose, which dropped its fifth in a row by losing 4-2 to the Leafs on Tuesday, hosts Edmonton in a battle of two slumping teams. The Oilers have dropped nine of their last 10, including Tuesday's 3-2 loss at Dallas.
