Red Deer Rebels continue to roll, beating Edmonton 4-3 in shootout @NHLdotcom

EDMONTON - The Red Deer Rebels continued their press for fourth in the Eastern Conference edging the Edmonton Oil Kings 4-3 in the shootout in Western Hockey League action Saturday night.

Landon Ferraro scored in regulation and had the shootout winner for Red Deer (38-23-4), while Cullen Morin and Willie Coetzee had markers. Kraymer Barnstable stopped 27 shots in his first start in 12 games for the Rebels.

Sebastian Svendsen wired a shot to force overtime for Edmonton (16-37-13), while Michael St. Croix and Michael Burns added singles. Cam Lanigan stopped 39 shots for the Oil Kings.

It was the sixth and final meeting between the two clubs, with the Rebels taking the season series 5-1-0-0. Coetzee led the Rebels on offence in the series with five goals and two assists.

Andrej Kudrma's assist on Morin's tally extended his point streak to six games.
