Zane Jones scored twice and Victor Rask had three assists as the Calgary Hitmen downed the visiting Regina Pats 5-2 on Sunday in Western Hockey League action.
Rask's three assists extend his point streak to six games and he has five goals and six assists during his run. Since being sent back to junior from the American Hockey League's Charlotte Checkers, the native of Sweden has produced 11 goals and 29 points in 26 games.
Colten Mayor, Brady Brassart and Pavlo Padakin also scored for the Hitmen (39-17-4), who have won back-to-back contests.
Morgan Klimchuk and Lane Scheidl scored for the Pats (20-33-6), who have lost three games in a row and six of their last seven.
Calgary's back-up goaltender Mack Shields only had to make 13 saves for the win as Teagan Sacher stopped 23 shots in a losing cause for Regina.
The Hitmen went 2 for 5 on the power play while the Pats scored once on five chances with the man advantage.
Elsewhere in the WHL, it was: Edmonton 5, Victoria 2 and Vancouver 2, Seattle 1 (OT).
At Calgary, the Hitmen jumped out to an early lead and found themselves up 4-0 before the Pats responded.
Jones opened the scoring 1:31 into the game and Brassart made it 2-0 before the first period was through.
Padakin scored the only goal of the second period to give Calgary a three-goal lead after 40 minutes of action.
Zones added his second the game 2:24 into the third period before Klimchuk finally put Regina on the board at 6:23.
Scheidl made it 4-2 at 12:06, however Mayor halted any chance of a Pats comeback when he responded just 17 seconds later for the Hitmen.
Oil Kings 5 Royals 2
At Edmonton, Michael St. Croix had two goals and an assist and Laurent Brossoit stopped 17-of-19 shots as the Oil Kings (42-12-5) came back from a 2-0 deficit to beat Victoria (32-22-5) for their 13th win in their last 13 contests.
Giants 2, Thunderbirds 1 (OT)
At Kent, Wash., Luke Lockhart scored a short-handed goal 1:56 into overtime to lift the Seattle Thunderbirds (21-32-7) over the Vancouver Giants (15-43-2).
