For Sam Rosen, this one will last a lifetime.
The long-time broadcaster whose iconic call of the 1994 Stanley Cup championship will stayed burned in the memory of Rangers fans forever, was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame last week.
Rosen was the recipient of the 2016 Foster Hewitt Memorial Award, given to broadcasters who have made outstanding contributions to the game during their career.
Rosen, who has called play-by-play for 33 seasons, certainly fits that bill. He was honored with a huge ovation before Sunday night's game against the Florida Panthers at Madison Square Garden.
Rosen's family and current broadcast partner Joe Micheletti were in on the celebration and, in a nice surprise, his former partner John Davidson was in attendance.
Davidson, a former Rangers goalie, teamed up with Rosen for 20 seasons beginning in 1986. Rosen appeared to be pleasantly surprised to see "J.D." on Sunday.
A tribute video was played in Rosen's honor featuring congratulations from Rangers past and present and he was also given a crystal prism of his likeness.
