New York Rangers defensemen Marc Staal and Dan Girardi each had successful ankle surgery, the team announced on Friday.
Staal had a bone chip removed from his ankle, and Girardi had a bursa excision on his ankle.
Each player is expected to be ready for training camp.
Girardi, who played 82 games during the regular season, sustained a Grade 1 MCL sprain against the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Eastern Conference Final. He had four assists in 19 playoff games. The Rangers were defeated by the Lightning in seven games.
Staal, who had a hairline fracture in his ankle which he sustained during the regular season, did not miss any games in the playoffs. He had one assist in 19 games.
