Rangers sign Christian Thomas @NHL
The New York Rangers signed Christian Thomas, son of former NHL forward Steve Thomas, to a three-year entry-level deal on Thursday.

Christian Thomas scored 54 goals and finished with 99 points in 66 games for Oshawa of the Ontario Hockey League this season. The Thomases became the first father-son team to each crack the 50-goal mark in the OHL.

Christian’s 95 goals in the last two seasons is more than any player in the OHL during that span. The Rangers took him in the second round (No. 40) last June after he had 41 goals for the Generals in 2009-10.

Steve Thomas scored 421 goals and finished with 933 points in 1,235 NHL regular-season games, and he added 54 goals and 107 points in 174 playoff games.
