New York Rangers goalie Ondrej Pavelec will be out 2-3 weeks with a sprained MCL.

Pavelec was injured in the first period of a 4-3 win against the Calgary Flames on Friday. He made seven saves and didn't return for the second period.

Pavelec is 4-7-1 with a 3.01 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage.

Goalie Alexandar Georgiev was recalled from Hartford of the American Hockey League on Saturday and will back up Henrik Lundqvist when the Rangers play at the Winnipeg Jets on Sunday (3 p.m. ET; NHLN, TSN3, MSG+, NHL.TV).

Rangers coach Alain Vigneault said forward Jimmy Vesey (concussion) will return after missing three games and defenseman Ryan McDonagh (upper body) will miss his second game.
