NEW YORK (AP) -Marian Gaborik is back in the Rangers' lineup after missing 12 games because of a separated left shoulder, but No. 1 goalie Henrik Lundqvist is a late scratch, and defenseman Michal Rozsival is also sitting out against the Buffalo Sabres.
Gaborik, who led the Rangers last season with 42 goals and 86 points, is playing Thursday night for the first time since Oct. 15 when he separated his left shoulder against Toronto in the home opener - New York's third game of the season.
Lundqvist was slated to play but he came down with an illness shortly before the opening faceoff and was replaced by back Martin Biron. Rozsival is expected to be sidelined at least a week because of a strained shoulder.
Biron was making his fourth start of the season and second in three games, including a 2-0 home loss to St. Louis on Sunday.
Matt Gilroy took Rozsival's place in the lineup after being a healthy scratch the previous five games and seven times in the Rangers' first 15 contests this season.
