Rangers-Caps set for VERSUS on Wednesday @NHLdotcom
The New York Rangers still have a pair of games left before they head to Philadelphia for the Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic on Jan. 2. The first comes when they visit Washington in one of six games on Wednesday's schedule.

The Rangers will be looking for their sixth consecutive victory when they take the ice at the Verizon Center against the struggling Caps, who resumed play after the Christmas break with a 4-2 loss at Buffalo on Monday -- the same night the Rangers blanked the New York Islanders 3-0 at Madison Square Garden.

The game can be seen on VERSUS in the United States and TSN2 in Canada, beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Wednesday's action begins at 7, when the Sabres visit New Jersey. The Devils are back home after Monday's 4-2 loss at Carolina.

At 8, Nashville visits Minnesota, which is trying to end a seven-game losing streak. The Predators lost their first game after the break, 4-1 to Detroit on Monday. A half-hour later, Chicago will try to build on Monday's 4-1 win against Columbus when Los Angeles comes to the United Center.

Boston plays its first game after the Christmas break when it visits Phoenix at 9 p.m. ET. The Coyotes are back home after Monday's 4-3 loss in Los Angeles. The Bruins haven't played since routing Florida 8-0 on Friday.

In the lone game on the West Coast, Vancouver begins a three-game swing through California with a stop in San Jose, a game that can be seen in Canada on TSN. The Canucks returned from their Christmas break by beating Edmonton 5-3 on Monday, the same night the Sharks lost 3-2 at home to Anaheim.
