  • ON POINT - Two Rangers defensemen (Ryan McDonagh and Marc Staal) recorded a goal in the same game for the first time this season and for the first time since Feb. 27, 2016 at Dallas. Three Blueshirts defensemen have tallied a goal over the last two games (McDonagh, Staal, and Nick Holden).
  • SPECIAL TEAMS - The Rangers outscored Buffalo, 2-1, on special teams in tonight's contest and have outscored their opponent on special teams in 12 of 25 games this season.
  • POWER SURGE - New York was 2-for-2 (2:38) on the power play in tonight's game. The Rangers captain has recorded a point in 12 of 25 games in 2016-17. McDonagh has led the Rangers in ice time in 24 of 25 games this season.
  • Rick Nash tallied a power play goal and recorded three shots on goal. He has registered a goal/point in four of the last six games, recording six points (four goals, two assists) over the span. Nash leads the Rangers in power play goals (four) and power play points (six), and he ranks second on the team in goals (11) this season.
