NEW YORK - New York Rangers forward Andrew Desjardins has been suspended for two preseason games for an illegal check to the head of New Jersey Devils forward Miles Wood during NHL Preseason Game No. 55 in New Jersey on Saturday, Sept. 23, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 8:06 of the first period. Desjardins was assessed a match penalty for illegal check to the head.
