Rangers agree to terms with forward Lombardi

Center Matthew Lombardi agreed to terms with the New York Rangers, the team announced Wednesday. Terms were not released, but Northjersey.com reported it to be a two-year, $1.6 million contract.

Lombardi, 32, had 20 goals and 50 points in 46 games last season with Geneve-Servette in National League A, the top professional league in Switzerland. He led the league in points and assists (30), and had a plus-16 rating.

He most recently played in the NHL in 2012-13 and had four goals and eight points in 28 games with the Phoenix Coyotes and Anaheim Ducks.

In nine NHL seasons with the Calgary Flames, Coyotes, Nashville Predators, Toronto Maple Leafs and Ducks, Lombardi has 101 goals and 262 points in 536 regular-season games, and 16 points in 40 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
