Ranger take hold of series with 6-2 victory against Sarnia Sting @NHLdotcom

KITCHENER, Ont. - Matt Halischuk scored two goals and an assist to power the Rangers to a 6-2 victory over the Sarnia Sting, giving Kitchener a commanding 3-0 lead in their Western Conference semifinal.

Mikkel Boedker and Nick Spaling had a goal and three assists apiece, while Justin Azevedo and Matt Pepe each added singles for Kitchener, which went 3-for-8 on the power play.

Steve Reese and Jamie Arniel scored for Sarnia, which will need to win at home on Wednesday to prevent elimination.

Josh Unice and Steve Mason combined for 23 saves for the Rangers, while Andrew Perugini stopped 33 of 39 shots.
