Rajala scores twice to lead Wheat Kings to 5-2 win over Hitmen

BRANDON, Man. - Toni Rajala scored twice as the Brandon Wheat Kings beat the Calgary Hitmen 5-2 in the Western Hockey League on Friday night.

Alexander Urbom, Paul Van de Velde and Matt Calvert also scored for the Wheat Kings, who improved to 15-10-2. Calvert's goal, the eventual game-winner, came just as the buzzer sounded to end the second period, only 1.1 seconds after a draw deep in the Calgary zone.

Michael Stone and Ian Schultz replied for the Central Division-leading Hitmen, who fell to 19-7-0.

Brandon netminder Andrew Hayes made 28 saves, while Martin Jones stopped 36 shots for Calgary.
