Rain in forecast for Winter Classic @NHL

PITTSBURGH (AP) - The Winter Classic might be the first NHL game delayed by rain.

The forecast suggests a breezy, rainy day with moderate temperatures in the low 50s Saturday for the Capitals-Penguins outdoor game at Heinz Field. If the rain develops, it could delay the scheduled 1 p.m. EST starting time.

Rain appears each hour in the forecast until 7 p.m. It includes possibly eight-tenths of an inch of rain - fairly heavy rain for Pittsburgh in winter.

NHL officials said they are prepared to play Saturday, even if the game doesn't start until as late as 8 p.m.
