SEATTLE - Prab Rai celebrated his 19th birthday with two goals and three assists to lead the Seattle Thunderbirds to a 6-1 win over the Portland Winter Hawks on Saturday night in the Western Hockey League.
Jim O'Brien also had a pair of goals and an assist and Thomas Hickey and Jonathan Parker each had three assists for Seattle (10-13-1-2), which chased starting Portland goaltender Keith Hamilton at 12:14 of the first period, scoring three times on its first 10 shots.
Brenden Silvester and Greg Scott had the other goals for the Thunderbirds.
Portland (7-19-0-0) got goals from Brad Ross and Radim Valchar. The Winter Hawks are 5-7-0-0 under new coach Mike Johnston.
Calvin Pcikard made 27 saves for Seattle, while Kurtis Much replaced Hamilton for Portland, stopping 22 of 25 shots.
