WINDSOR, Ont. - Radek Faksa scored the winner in a shootout and John Gibson made 29 saves as the Kitchener Rangers defeated the Windsor Spitfires 4-3 on Thursday in the Ontario Hockey League.

Ben Thomson, Matia Marcantuoni and Andrew Crescenzi also scored for the Rangers. Marcantuoni and Crescenzi both scored power-play markers in the third period to send the game into extra time.

Marcantuoni's marker came with Kitchener (6-3-0) enjoying a two-man advantage. It was the third straight game in which the Rangers scored two power-play goals.

Brady Vail, Zack MacQueen and Nick Czinder all scored their fifth goals of the season for the Spitfires (8-3-2), who failed to protect a 3-1 lead heading into the third period.

Vail's marker came on an unassisted effort just seven seconds into the game, establishing a new Spitfire team record.

The game featured a pair of high-profile netminders as Gibson, the second round pick of the Anaheim Ducks in the 2011 NHL draft, bested Windsor's Jack Campbell, the first round pick of the Dallas Stars in 2010. Campbell made 37 saves.

The win extended the Rangers' winning streak to three games while the loss snapped the Spitfires' three-game win streak.
