ON HAVING A BOUNCE-BACK GAME
Hagelin: "What we did last game was uncharacteristic for our team and we definitely need to respond tonight the right way. We want to get out there. We want to show everyone what type of team we are. What we saw the other night wasn't us. I think every single player in here, he wants to play better. Everyone can play better. So it's going to be a good test for us tonight."
Kunitz: "We need to show each other, show our coaches that we can bounce back from not executing very well or not playing well altogether. We need to go out there and play with that urgency, play a good team game, possess the puck a little more than we did last game."
ON REPLACING HORNQVIST (IN GENERAL AND ON THE POWER PLAY)
Kunitz: "There's spots out there. Obviously we'll have to change the power play a little. The top line's missing a key guy that gets in on the forecheck. It's an opportunity for someone else to come up and show what they can do. We're a team that needs to get better every single day and this is another way with an opportunity for someone else."
Sullivan: "He's a valuable player. Obviously he brings a lot to the table. He's hard to play against. He helps us with our puck retrievals. He goes to the front of the net. He does a lot of those thankless jobs that helps power plays be successful. We've got people we think we can plug in there that will get an opportunity to play with the top unit and we'll go from there. We have some depth. We're comfortable with the guys that we have. We know we have capable people."
ON NOT FEEDING THE ISLES' TRANSITION GAME
Daley: "They move (the puck) up quick, so we've got to watch where we put pucks into areas. We've got to put pucks into good spots where we're going to get it back and not feed into their transition game. So get pucks deep and get bodies on them."
Hagelin: "I think it starts just playing smart hockey around the blue lines. Getting the pucks deep and try to spend as much time as possible in their zone, try to hold onto pucks because they're a fast team. They're an opportunistic team when they get the chance, so if we play smart, we shouldn't be giving up too many chances."
