Quinle scores late to lead the Petes over the Whalers 4-3 @NHLdotcom

PLYMOUTH, Mich. - Alan Quine's goal with 1:49 to go in the third period snapped a 3-3 tie and lifted the Peterborough Petes to a 4-3 win over the Plymouth Whalers Friday night in Ontario Hockey League action.

Andrew Yogan, Austin Watson, Lino Martschini and Quine all had a goal and an assist for the Petes (14-7-3) to back Andrew D'Agostini's 44 saves in goal.

Garrett Meurs, Jamie Devane and Alex Aleardi (penalty shot) scored for the Whalers (17-7-3), while Scott Wedgewood finished with 27 saves.

Peterborough went 1-for-3 with the man advantage while Plymouth failed to score on either of their two power-play opportunities.

The Whalers had won their past eight games before tonight's defeat.
