Quenneville fans on first pitch at White Sox game

Maybe Joel Quenneville's attempt at a first pitch was just his way of teaching a larger lesson on the importance of practice? Yeah, that's it.

Whatever the circumstances, the Chicago Blackhawks coach took his slightly off-center toss like a champ at the Chicago White Sox game on Wednesday, when it was Blackhawks Night at Guaranteed Rate Field.
"I'm a little embarrassed; I haven't thrown a baseball in a while,"
Quenneville told the Chicago Tribune.
"That was brutal, that was awful. You could say that was a bad, bad shot or like a fan on a shot."

Quenneville admitted he hadn't practiced beforehand, noting that it probably wouldn't have made a big difference in his delivery.
But that was only one part of Blackhawks Night. Fans got to go home with a sweet new Chicago-themed hat.

And national anthem singer Jim Cornelison was on hand to sing "The Star-Spangled Banner."
