Quebec Remparts beat Cape Breton Screaming Eagles 3-0, take series 4-3 @NHLdotcom

QUEBEC - Charles Lavigne made 25 saves to shut out Cape Breton for the second time in as many nights as the Quebec Remparts beat the Screaming Eagles 3-0 to take the QMJHL quarter-final series 4-3 on Tuesday.

Mikhail Stefanovich led the way with a goal and an assist while Kevin Marshall added two assists for Quebec, which will face the Shawinigan Cataractes in the semifinal.

The Remparts won Game 6 against Cape Breton on Monday night by an identical 3-0 score.

Stefanovich, a Toronto Maple Leafs prospect, opened the scoring for Quebec less than minutes into the game, beating Cape Breton netminder Olivier Roy to give the Remparts the early lead. Dmitri Kugryshev and Jean-Simon Allard drew the assists.

Quebec stretched its lead to two at 14:46 of the second period when Marc-Olivier Vallerand scored from Marshall and Kelsey Tessier.

Benjamin Breault iced the game for the Remparts into an empty net with a minute to play in third with Stefanovich and Marshall drawing the assists.

Roy made 25 saves in the loss for Cape Breton.

The Screaming Eagles finished 0-for-4 on the power play, while the Remparts ended up 0-for-5.
