QMJHL's Victoriaville Tigres fire head coach Martin Bernard @NHLdotcom

VICTORIAVILLE, Que. - The QMJHL's Victoriaville Tigres fired head coach Martin Bernard on Saturday.

The Tigres dropped to 22-27-2-2 following Friday's 7-3 loss to the P.E.I. Rocket. Victoriaville has lost three straight and six of its last seven to fall into eighth place in the Telus Division standings.

Bernard, who was an assistant for the Tigres when they won the QMJHL title in 2002, was hired on as head coach in May of 2006. Victoriaville went 38-25-3-4 last season before losing to the Baie-Comeau Drakkar in the first round of the playoffs.
