QMJHL: Sylvestre has overtime winner in Oceanic's 4-3 win over Tigres @NHLdotcom

VICTORIAVILLE, Que. - It took an extra period, but Sebastien Sylvestre and the Rimouski Oceanic stretched their win streak to 12.

Sylvestre lifted the Oceanic to victory on Wednesday, scoring in overtime as Rimouski slipped past the Victoriaville Tigres 4-3 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Sylvestre has 27 goals so far this season.

Frederik Gauthier's goal 8:22 into the third period forced the extra time for the Oceanic (41-15-7), while Patrik Zdrahal and Simon Bourque also scored in regulation.

Philippe Desrosiers made 28 saves in net for Rimouski.

Cameron Yarwood and Ross Johnston scored 30 seconds apart at the start of the third period to give Victoriaville (31-24-8) a 3-1 lead. Jean-Francois Plante had a power-play goal in the first.

Brandon Whitney stopped 37 shots for the Tigres.

Rimouski won despite going scoreless on five power plays. Victoriaville went 1 for 4 with the man advantage.



SAINT JOHN, N.B. ? Stephan Seeger had a pair of goals as Moncton edged the Sea Dogs.

Garrett Johnston had the late winner for the Wildcats (31-30-3), while Josh Pugsley and Vladimir Tkachev also scored. Alex Dubeau made 23 saves for the win.

Matthew Highmore scored twice and added an assist for Saint John (19-39-5), while Spencer Smallman and Oliver Cooper had goals as well. Sebastien Auger stopped 30 shots.



CHICOUTIMI, Que. ??? Nick Sorensen struck twice to lead Quebec past the Sagueneens.

Alexandre Boivin, Kurt Etchegary and Cody Donaghey rounded out the scoring for the Remparts (36-16-11), while Callum Booth made 29 saves for the win.

Samuel Roussy was the lone scorer for Chicoutimi (26-36-1) and Julio Billia stopped 21 shots.



DRUMMONDVILLE, Que. ??? Matthew Boudens and Jerome Verrier had two goals each as the Voltigeurs skated past Sherbrooke.

Nikolas Brouillard also scored for Drummondville (39-21-4), while Joe Fleschler turned aside 15 shots in net.

Chase Harwell, Alexandre Sills and Carl Neill supplied the offence for the Phoenix (16-39-8). Francis Desrosiers was busy in net, making 46 saves on 51 shots.



SHAWINIGAN, Que. ??? Philippe Cadorette was perfect in net, making 23 saves as Baie-Comeau blanked the Cataractes.

Felix Girard had a pair of goals and Denis Gorbunov also scored for the Drakkar (45-15-4).

Marvin Cupper stopped 54 shots for Shawinigan (18-37-8).



GATINEAU, Que. ??? Alexis Pepin had a pair of goals ??? including one in to an empty net ??? as the Olympiques scored three unanswered goals to rally past Blainville-Boisbriand.

Vaclav Karabacek and Frank Schumacher also scored in Gatineau's (38-21-4) offensive outburst. Jonathan Bourcier and Elie Berube had goals in the first period for the Olympiques, while Robert Steeves made 17 saves.

Samuel Hodhod led the Armada (39-15-9) with a power-play goal and two assists, while Robert Dray, Marc-Olivier Roy and Nathanael Halbert also found the back of the net. Etienne Marcoux let in a goal on each of the first three shots he faced, giving way to Tyler Whiffen, who stopped 25-of-27 shots he faced.



VAL-D'OR, Que. ??? Francis Perron's second period power-play goal stood as the eventual winner as the Huskies sailed past the Foreurs.

Jason Fuchs scored late in the first period as Rouyn-Noranda (34-24-5) reeled off four consecutive goals. Marcus Power and Jean-Sebastien Dea also scored. Guillaume Decelles made 22 saves.

Anthony Mantha and Phil Pietroniro gave Val-d'Or (41-20-2) a 2-0 lead in the first period. Antonine Bibeau stopped 26 shots for the Foreurs.
