QMJHL Roundup: Verrier with three points as Voltigeurs earn fourth straight win @NHLdotcom

DRUMMONDVILLE, Que. - Jerome Verrier scored once and set up two more as the Drummondville Voltigeurs downed the visiting Chicoutimi Sagueneens 5-1 on Friday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League play.

Charles-David Beaudoin had a pair of goals for the Voltigeurs (23-11-2), who extended their win streak to four games, while Olivier Caouette and Frederick Gaudreau each scored once.

William Gignac had the only goal for the Sagueneens (18-18-1).

Joe Fleschler made 17 saves for Drummondville as Chicoutimi's Domenic Graham stopped 32-of-37 shots in a losing cause. The Voltigeurs went 1 for 5 on the power play while the Sagueneens went 1 for 4.



BATHURST, N.B. ? Peter Trainor scored once in regulation and then added the shootout winner as Rimouski edged Acadie-Bathurst.

Francois Beauchemin also scored for the Oceanic (20-11-6) while Anthony DeLuca chipped in with two assists.

Adam Stevens and Aaron Kerr replied for the Titan (14-18-4).

Rimouski's Zachary Fortin made 27 saves for the win as Acadie-Bathurst's Mason McDonald turned away 26-of-28 shots in defeat.



CAPE BRETON, N.S. ? Samuel Dove-McFalls scored the winner and Saint John benefited from two power-play goals to leap past the Screaming Eagles.

Olivier Cooper and Jurij Repe scored with the man advantage for Saint John (8-23-3) in the second period, and Dove-McFalls scored at 12:41 of the third.

Kyle Farrell scored his 17th of the season and William Carrier added another goal for Cape Breton (19-14-3).

Sebastien Auger made 29 saves for the win, while Cape Breton's Chase Marchand turned aside 20 shots in defeat.



MONCTON, N.B. ??? J.C. Campagna scored three goals, including the eventual game-winner as the Wildcats edged Halifax for its seventh win in a row.

Ryan Penny added a goal and an assist and Conor Garland scored a goal and helped on another to round out the Moncton (19-17-2) offence.

Samuel Leblanc, Brent Andrews, and Austyn Hardie replied for Halifax (23-13-1), while MacKenzie Weegar added two assists.

Alex Dubeau stopped 38 shots for the victory. Halifax's Kevin Darveau made 21 saves in defeat.



QUEBEC CITY ??? Anthony Beauvillier scored the shootout winner and Storm Phaneuf made 28 saves as Shawinigan slipped past the Remparts.

James Phelan, Alexis D'Aoust and Nicholas Welsh scored in regulation for the Cataractes (8-25-3).

Anthony Duclair had a goal and an assist for Quebec (18-11-7) while Brandon Shea and Olivier Archambault each scored once.

Callum Booth stopped 27 shots for the Remparts.



VICTORIAVILLE, Que. ??? Gabryel Paquin-Boudreau scored twice, including the winner, as Baie-Comeau handed the Tigres their fourth loss in a row.

Julien Lepage and Dominic Poulin also scored for the Drakkar (24-8-4) and Alex Jon Banville had two assists.

Angelo Miceli scored two goals for Victoriaville (13-17-5) and assisted on Mathieu Ayotte's goal as well.

Baie-Comeau's Philippe Cadorette made 32 saves for the win as Brandon Whitney truned aside 28 shots for the Tigres.



BLAINVILLE-BOISBRIAND, Que. ??? The Armada broke the game open with four unanswered goals in the third period, en route to downing Charlottetown.

Tyler Brown, Guillaume Bergeron, Joel Caron and Danick Martel scored in the final 20 minutes for Blainville-Boisbriand (24-5-7) while Marcus Hinds and David Berard added the others.

Alexandre Goulet and Matej Beran scored for the Islanders (14-18-5).

Etienne Marcoux made 28 saves for the Armada. Antoine Bibeau allowed four goals on 17 shots and was relieved by Eric Brassard, who stopped 3-of-4 shots in 13 minutes of action for Charlottetown.



ROUYN-NORANDA, Que. ????????? Dillon Fournier scored two goals, including one 2:42 into extra time, as the Huskies downed Gatineau.

Julien Avon, Francis Perron and Liam O'Brien also scored for Rouyn-Noranda (21-10-4) while Jean-Sebastien Dea tacked on two assists.

The Olympiques (22-13-1) got goals from Vincent Dunn, Emile Poirier, Mickael Beauregard and Elie Berube.

Alexandre Belanger made 21 saves for the Huskies before giving way to Steven Veillieux, who faced three shots in nine minutes of action. Robert Steeves and Anthony Brodeur combined to stop 36-of-41 shots for Gatineau.



VAL-D'OR, Que. ????????? Samuel Henley and Phil Pietroniro each scored twice as the Foreurs doubled up Sherbrooke.

Shawn Oullette-St-Amant and Louick Marcotte also scored for Val-d'Or (25-11-1), which is 10-0-1 in its last 11 outings.

Jean-Francois Laflamme scored twice for the Phoenix (13-20-3) and Chase Harwell had the other.

Keven Bouchard made 18 saves for the Foreurs. Francis Desrosiers stopped 54-of-60 shots for Sherbrooke.
