QMJHL Roundup: Screaming Eagles double up Sea Dogs, inch closer to first place @NHLdotcom

SYDNEY, N.S. - Fourth-place Cape Breton Screaming Eagles inched closer to the top spot in the Martimes division on Saturday night with a 4-2 victory over the Saint John Sea Dogs in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Cape Breton (5-3-1) would start the game with three consecutive goals, including two off the stick of Duncan MacIntyre. Colby Tower and Kyle Farrell would also score to round out the Screaming Eagles scoring.

Samuel Dove-McFalls and Spencer Smallman both scored for Saint John (5-2-2).

Francois Brassard made 26-of-28 saves in net for Cape Breton while Blade Mann-Dixon stopped 23-of-27 shots in the loss.

Cape Breton scored twice on six power-play attempts while Saint John was unsuccessful in six attempts.



MONCTON, N.B. ? Ivan Barbashev scored twice in regulation and again in the shootout as the Wildcats edged Val-d'Or.

Christophe Lalonde added another for Moncton (6-2-0).

Nicolas Aube-Kubel, Jan Mandat and Anthony Richard supplied the offence for the Foreurs (2-6-1).



BOISBRIAND, Que. ??? Alexis Loiseau scored two of Rimouski's three second period goals to lead the Oceanic past the Armada.

Anthony DeLuca also scored twice for Rimouski (7-1-0).

Guillaume Beaudoin, Philippe Sanche and Nikita Jevpalovs all scored for Blainville-Boisbriand (2-5-1).



SHERBROOKE, Que. ??? Kevin Domingue had two goals and an assist to lead Sherbrooke offensively against the Titan.

Jeremy Roy, David Storto, Jean-Francois Lavoie and Carl Neill also scored for the Phoenix (6-2-0).

Andrew Ryan had the lone goal for Acadie-Bathurst (2-6-0).



CHARLOTTETOWN ??? Captain Ryan Penny had a hat trick for Rouyn-Noranda in the win.

Jeremy Auger struck twice for the Huskies (5-5-0), while Mathieu Lemay and Julien Nantel also scored.

Samuel Harvey made 30 saves for the shutout.

Mason McDonald started the game for Charlottetown (5-3-2) allowing four goals on 23 shots. Daryl MacCallum replaced McDonald in the third period, stopping 4-of-7 shots.



DRUMMONDVILLE, Que. ??? Maxime St-Cyr and Dzmitry Ambrozheichik scored on the power play for Baie-Comeau.

Jamie Clavet also scored for the Drakkar (4-3-1).

Joey Ratelle scored his seventh of the season for Drummondville (3-4-1) while Michael Carcone rounded out the scoring.
