Nathan MacKinnon had two goals and two assists Wednesday as the Halifax Mooseheads continued to roll with a 6-2 victory over the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
Jonathan Drouin added two goals and an assist for first-place Halifax (56-6-4), while Stefan Fournier also scored twice. Dominic Beauchemin had the other goal for the Mooseheads, who got two assists from Martin Frk.
Chris Clarke made 37 saves to get the win.
Bryce Milson and Michael Lyle had the goals for Cape Breton (14-44-8). David Honzik started for the Screaming Eagles, but surrendered five goals on 13 shots. Alex Bureau made 12 saves on 13 shots the rest of the way.
Elsewhere in the QMJHL: Moncton 6, Saint John 1; Drummondville 4, Victoriaville 2; and Rimouski 2, Gatineau 1.
At Sydney, N.S., leading 3-1 after the first, Fournier scored on the power play at 3:43 of the second. Beauchemin then scored just 1:19 later to send Honzik to the bench in favour of Bureau.
Milson got one back for Cape Breton to make it 5-2 on the power play at 13:05, but MacKinnon rounded out the scoring with another goal on the man advantage at 9:27 of the third.
Halifax finished the night 2-for-3 on the power play, while Cape Breton was 1-for-6.

At Moncton, N.B., Yannick Veilleux had three goals and an assist as the Wildcats (41-22-3) pounded Saint John (23-42-1).

At Drummondville, Que., Louis-Philip Guindon made 28 saves as the Voltigeurs (37-25-4) doubled up Victoriaville (32-26-8).
Oceanic 2, Olympiques 1
At Rimouski, Que., Alexandre Lavoie had a goal and an assist as the Oceanic (40-17-9) got past Gatineau (28-34-4).
