QMJHL Roundup: Loiseau, DeLuca lead as Oceanic drub Phoenix 7-2 @NHLdotcom

SHERBROOKE, Que. - The Rimouski Oceanic did not let up on the Sherbrooke Phoenix on Wednesday.

Alexis Loiseau and Anthony DeLuca had two goals each as Rimouski rocked Sherbrooke 7-2 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action, handing the Phoenix their fourth straight loss.

Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Frederik Gauthier had a goal an assist for the Oceanic (22-8-2) to extend his point streak to seven games. Francois Beauchemin and Christopher Clapperton also scored. Olivier Tremblay made 25 saves for the win.

Carl Neill and Kevin Domingue replied in the third period for Sherbrooke (16-12-3). Evan Fitzpatrick stopped 16-of-21 shots in two periods of work. He was replaced in net by Alex Bureau, who turned aside 7-of-9 shots.

It was an undisciplined game with both teams being heavily penalized. Rimouski earned 31 minutes of penalties, while the Phoenix took 30 minutes of penalties.

The Oceanic went 2 for 5 on the power play and Sherbrooke was 1 for 6 with the man advantage.



MONCTON, N.B. ? Alex Dubeau stopped all 33 shots he faced as the Wildcats blanked Quebec.

Ivan Barbashev and Conor Garland scored and added two assists each for Moncton (19-10-2), while Eric Leger and Jacob Sweeney had goals as well.

Callum Booth made 30 saves for the Remparts (20-11-1).



DRUMMONDVILLE, Que. ??? Mathieu Sevigny's third period goal was the winner as the Voltigeurs handed Gatineau its third straight loss.

Philippe Pelletier-Leblanc and Joey Ratelle also scored for Drummondville (16-14-2).

Louick Marcotte and Alexandre Carrier replied for the Olympiques (14-15-4).



VICTORIAVILLE, Que. ??? Matthew Highmore scored back-to-back goals nearly a minute apart as Saint John topped the Tigres.

Justice Dundas had the other goal for the Sea Dogs (20-6-5).

Jordan Ty Fournier was the lone scorer for Victoriaville (17-11-4).
