QMJHL Roundup: Kielly, Chlapik score in shootout as Islanders edge Sea Dogs 3-2

CHARLOTTETOWN - Kameron Kielly and Filip Chlapik both scored in the shootout as the Charlottetown Islanders edged the Saint John Sea Dogs 3-2 on Friday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Kielly also scored in regulation time for Charlottetown (1-0-0), while Daniel Sprong had a goal early in the third period to force overtime. Daryl MacCallum made 29 saves and turned away two skaters in the shootout to earn the win.

Adam Bateman and Julien Tessier provided the offence for Saint John (0-0-1), while Sebastien Auger stopped 14 shots in net.

The Islanders went 0 for 8 on the power play, while the Sea Dogs could not score on their three man advantages.

MONCTON, N.B. ? Kyle Farrell had a pair of goals, including one short handed, as Cape Breton downed Moncton.

Evgeny Svechnikov scored and added two assists for the Screaming Eagles (1-0-0), while Timothe Simard, Pierre-Luc Dubois and Maxim Lazarev chipped in as well.

Will Smith, Eric Leger and Adam Holwell replied for the Wildcats (0-1-0).

BATHURST, N.B. ? Christophe Boivin had goals in the first and third period to lead Acadie-Bathurst past Halifax.

Jordan Maher had a power-play goal for the Titan (1-0-0), while Raphael Corriveau put the puck into an empty net.

Ryan Falkenham was the lone scorer for the Mooseheads (0-1-0).

SHERBROOKE, Que. ??? Tim Wieser had two goals and two assists as the Phoenix dispatched Quebec.

RIMOUSKI, Que. ??? Samuel Laberge scored two goals a minute apart in the third period as the Oceanic fended off Victoriaville.

Justin Vachon's goal at the 16:19 mark of the third period was the winner for Rimouski (1-0-0), while Simon Bourque, Alexis Loiseau and Anthony DeLuca also scored.

Jordan Ty Fournier and Carl Marois both had two goals each for the Tigres (0-1-0). Antoine Marcoux tied it at 5-5 before Vachon put away the winner.
