Martin Frk scored three times as part of a four-point night and Jonathan Drouin chipped in with a goal and three assists Wednesday as the Halifax Mooseheads demolished the Saint John Sea Dogs 8-3 in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
MacKenzie Weegar and Stephen MacAulay each added a goal and an assist, while Luca Ciampini also scored.
Chris Clarke made 24 saves to get the win for Halifax (47-6-3), which also got two assists each from Brendan Duke and Konrad Abeltshauser.
Maxime Villemaire had a goal and an assist for Saint John (21-35-1), while Matthew Highmore and Jurij Repe also scored.
Sebastien Auger allowed six goals on 22 shots for the Sea Dogs, while Alex Fournier made 16 saves on 18 shots in relief.
Elsewhere in the QMJHL it was: Sherbrooke 4, Shawinigan 3; and Blainville-Boisbriand 6, Rimouski 2.
At Saint John, N.B., the Mooseheads led 4-0 after the first period before Frk, Ciampini and then Frk again, for his hat trick, scored to make it 7-0 just before the 12-minute mark of the second period.
Repe got one back for the Sea Dogs at 14:24, but Weegar scored at 18:21 to make the score 8-1 after two periods.
Villemaire scored at 2:05 of the third and Highmore rounded out the scoring at 8:12 as Halifax took the foot off the pedal in cruising to an 8-3 final.

At Sherbrooke, Que., Vincent Deslauriers scored twice as the Phoenix (17-34-6) defeated Shawinigan (14-37-7).

At Rimouski, Que., Christopher Clapperton scored three times and added an assist as Blainville-Boisbriand (33-16-8) thumped the Oceanic (37-13-8).
