QMJHL Roundup: A look at Wednesday's games

Alex Emond scored his second of the night at 4:16 of overtime Wednesday as the Drummondville Voltigeurs defeated the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada 6-5 in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Emond, who also had an assist on the night, beat Armada goalie Storm Phaneuf with Jess Tanguy off in the penalty box for goaltender interference.

Andre Bouvet-Morrissette and Michael Santini added a goal and an assist for Drummondville (25-28-8), while Guillaume Gauthier also scored.

Jerome Verrier chipped in with two assists for the Voltigeurs, who got 29 saves from Domenic Graham.

Cedric Paquette scored twice for the Armada, including a goal with 41 seconds left in regulation to force overtime. He also had an assist.

Marc-Olivier Roy added a goal and an assist for Blaineville-Broisbriand (33-22-5), while Dylan Anderson and Raphael Pouliot also scored.

Xavier Ouellet added two assists and Phaneuf finished with 31 saves.

Elsewhere in the QMJHL it was: Halifax 6, Gatineau 2; and Quebec 9 Baie-Comeau 2.

At Drummondville, Que., Gauthier made it 4-0 for the Voltigeurs at 7:28 at for the second before the Armada rallied.

Roy, Anderson and Paquette scored before the period was out to cut the Drummondville lead to 4-3 heading to the third.

Emond scored his first of the night to make it 5-3 at 2:47 of the final period, but Pouliout made it 5-4 at 9:55 and Paquette tied it late with his second of the game.

Drummondville finished the night 3-for-6 on the power play, while Blaineville-Broisbriand was scoreless in three chances.

At Gatineau, Que., Zachary Fucale made 21 saves as Halifax (35-19-6) cruised past the Olympiques (24-28-9).

At Baie-Comeau, Que., Anthony Duclair had two goals and an assist as Quebec (39-15-7) whipped the Drakkar (28-28-5).
