QMJHL Roundup: A look at Wednesday's games @NHLdotcom

In three seasons with the P.E.I. Rocket, Josh Currie has never produced the way he is right now.

Currie scored twice, including the game winner midway through the third period, as the Rocket defeated the visiting Acadie-Bathurst Titan 4-3 on Wednesday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

The 19-year-old has now scored in five straight games and picked up six total goals over that stretch.

With 16 goals so far this season, Currie has already crushed his previous season-high of nine.

Victor Provencher and Ben Duffy also scored for the Rocket (11-25-4), who have won three games in a row. Jimmy Oligny chipped in with two assists.

Brent Turnbull, Jordan Murray and Alec Jon Banville all scored for the Titan (20-19-4).

Maxime Lagace made 27 saves for the win, and first star of the game, while Jacob Brennan allowed three goals on 10 shots before being pulled 11 minutes into the first period.

Robert Steeves came on in relief and stopped 26-of-27 shots the rest of the way.

P.E.I. went 1 for 4 on the power play as Acadie-Bathurst went 0 for 1.

Elsewhere in the QMJHL, it was: Saint John 3, Gatineau 2; Blainville-Boisbriand 3, Chicoutimi 2; Victoriaville 5, Quebec 4 (OT); Shawinigan 8, Rimouski 3; and Rouyn-Noranda 3, Drummondville 2.

At Charlottetown, P.E.I., Turnbull opened the scoring 2:58 into the game, giving the Titan a 1-0 lead.

But the Rocket answered back three straight times within seven minutes, running Brennan from the Acadie-Bathurst net.

Duffy scored a power-play goal at 4:08, then it was Currie at 6:22 and finally Provencher at 11:17.

With Steeves in goal for the Titan, Murray and Banville each scored in the second period, 1:36 apart, tying the game at 3-3 heading into the final 20 minutes of play.

Currie scored his second goal of the game at 12:53 of the third to give the Rocket the victory.

At Saint John, N.B., Danick Gauthier scored the winner, on the power play, with 35 seconds remaining in the game to lift the Sea Dogs (30-12-2) over Gatineau (17-17-6).


Armada 3 Sagueneens 2

At Boisbriand, Que., Cedrick Paquette scored twice and set up one more as the Armada (22-16-2) came back from two goals down to beat Chicoutimi (19-13-8).


Tigres 5 Remparts 4 (OT)

At Victoriaville, Que., Yannick Dube and Phillip Danault scored two goals apiece as the Tigres (25-13-2) edged Quebec (28-7-5) in overtime, picking up their fourth straight win.


Cataractes 8 Oceanic 3

At Rimouski, Que., Peter Sakaris scored two goals and set up two more, earning first star of the game, as Shawinigan (27-10-4) defeated the Oceanic (24-19-0).


Huskies 3 Voltiguers 2

At Rouyn-Noranda, Que., Jeffrey Noonan made 30 saves and Alexis Bernier scored a goal and an assist to lead the Huskies (14-26-2) over Drummondville (16-20-5).
