QMJHL Roundup: A look at Wednesday's games @NHLdotcom

The Saint John Sea Dogs are the top team in the Maritimes Division, but it doesn't seem that way when they play their division rival, the Acadie-Bathurst Titan.

The Titan defeated the Sea Dogs on Wednesday night 4-3 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

The victory was Acadie-Bathurst's fourth in five games against Saint John and they have averaged over five goals per game in each win.

Zach O'Brien led the way offensively for the Titan (19-18-4) with two goals while Sebastien Trudeau had a goal and two assists and Mirko Hoefflin a single goal.

Aidan Kelly had a goal and an assist for the Sea Dogs (28-11-1) as Danick Gauthier and Stephen MacAulay added single goals.

Robert Steeves made 30 saves for the win while Mathieu Corbeil allowed all four goals against on 19 shots before being replaced by Sebastien Auger early in the third period. Auger stopped all five shots he faced in relief.

The power play wasn't a factor for either club as Acadie-Bathurst went 0 for 3 and Saint John was 0 for 1.

The two provincial opponents will meet three more times before the season is through, with the next meeting on January 22nd.

Elsewhere in the QMJHL, it was: Cape Breton 5, Halifax 4 (SO); P.E.I. 3, Moncton 2; Victoriaville 7, Blainville-Boisbriand 4; Chicoutimi 6, Rimouski 4; Gatineau 5, Val-d'Or 3.

At Bathurst, N.B., the Titan jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead when O'Brien and Hoefflin both scored less than five minutes into the first period.

Trudeau made it 3-0 midway through the second period but Gauthier put the Sea Dogs on the board at 17:13 to make it a two-goal game heading into the final period.

O'Brien's second goal of the game came just 24 seconds into the third and restored a three-goal lead for Acadie-Bathurst. It also meant the end of the night for Corbeil as Auger came on in relief for the rest of the game.

Kelly scored at 4:53 for Saint John and MacAulay added another at 15:04, however it wasn't enough to make the comeback as the Titan held on for the 4-3 victory.
