SHAWINIGAN, Que. - Francois Lacerte made 40 saves as the Gatineau Olympiques beat the Shawinigan Cataractes 5-1 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action Tuesday.

Lacerte came up big as the Olympiques were outshot 41-23. He made 15 saves in the third period alone to help Gatineau improve to 12-10-1, good for first place in the West Division.

Tomas Hyka scored twice for Gatineau while Jean-Gabriel Pageau, Adam Janosik and Raphael Lafontaine, into an empty net, had the other goals.

Dale Deon had the only goal for Shawinigan (16-7-3), while Gabriel Girard made 18 saves.
