QMJHL Roundup: A look at Thursday's games @NHLdotcom

Marek Hrivik had two goals and an assist and Ryan Penny also scored twice Thursday as the Moncton Wildcats thumped the Halifax Mooseheads 7-1 in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.

Alex Saulnier added two goals and an assist, while Myles McGurty had a goal and an assist.

Mitchell Deruelle also scored for Moncton (28-30-6), which got 24 saves from Roman Will.

Alexandre Cote had to only goal for Halifax (37-21-6). Zachary Fucale started for the Mooseheads and allowed five goals on 19 shots.

Marc-Olivier Daigle made 13 saves in relief.

In the only other game on the QMJHL schedule, Shawinigan downed Rouyn-Noranda 4-2.

At Moncton, N.B., Penny's goal at 15:09 of the second period made it 5-1 and signalled the end of the night for Fucale.

Deruelle made it 6-1 at 9:41 of the third before McGurty rounded out the scoring at 14:53.

Moncton finished the night 1-for-6 on the power play, while Halifax was scoreless in two opportunities.

At Shawinigan, Que., Alex Dubeau made 22 saves as the Cataractes (43-14-7) defeated Rouyn-Noranda (21-35-8).
