QMJHL Roundup: A look at Sunday's games @NHLdotcom

Yanni Gourde may lead the QMJHL in scoring, but his Victoriaville Tigres can win games with their secondary scoring too.

The line of Philippe Maillett, Philippe Halley and Brandon Hynes combined for three goals and seven points as Victoriaville defeated the visiting Chicoutimi Sagueneens 5-3 on Sunday afternoon in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Stefan Fournier also had a goal and an assist for the Tigres (42-18-6), who have picked up at least one point in six straight games, while Yannick Dube added a single goal.

Gourde picked up a single assist, giving him a league-best 117 points in 66 games.

Christian Ouellett scored twice for the Saguenees (34-22-9), who lost for the first time in three outings, as Steve Lebel scored the other.

David Honzik stopped 29 shots for his 19th win of the season while Christopher Gibson made 39 saves in a losing effort.

Both clubs had much of their offence come from the power play as Victoriaville went 3 for 5 and Chicoutimi scored three times on seven chances with the man advantage.

Elsewhere in the QMJHL, it was: Gatineau 5, Quebec 0; Shawinigan 6, Saint John 2 and Rouyn-Noranda 3, Val-d'Or 2;

At Victoriaville, Que., Maillett opened the scoring 4:09 into the game and Fournier added another on the power play at 6:41 to give the Tigres an early 2-0 lead.

Ouellett scored on the man advantage at 14:33 to put Chicoutimi on the board.

Dube restored a two goal advantage for Victoriaville only eight seconds into the second period but Lebel and Ouellett scored power-play goals four minutes apart to tie the game 3-3 heading into the final period.

Halley scored what would hold up as the game winner, by way of power play, at 4:46 of the third and Hynes added an insurance goal at 9:55 while the Sagueneens had another man in the penalty box.


Olympiques 5 Remparts 0

At Gatineau, Que., Francois Lacerte stopped 35 shots for his second shutout of the season and Kyle Morrison had a goal and an assist as the Olympiques (26-29-10) blanked Quebec (42-17-7).


Cataractes 6 SeaDogs 2

At Shawinigan, Que., Anton Zlobin had two goals and three assists as the Cataractes (44-15-7) beat Saint John (47-15-3), which lost in regulation time for the first time in 19 games.


Huskies 3 Foreurs 2

At Val-d'Or, Que., Mathieu Lemay scored twice and Robin Gusse made 19 saves as Rouyn-Noranda (22-36-8) halted its three-game losing streak with a win over the Foreurs (30-31-5), who lost for the first time in eight outings.
