QMJHL Roundup: A look at Saturday's games

Andre Bouvet-Morrissette is producing goals like never before.

The 20-year old right-winger scored once, extending his goal streak to eight games, and set up two more as his Drummondville Voltiguers defeated the visiting Baie-Comeau Drakkar 6-1 on Saturday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

With only three games remaining in the regular season and a playoff position already clinched, Bouvet-Morrissette now has 11 goals and 16 points in his last eight outings.

Alex Emond and Marc-Olivier Brouillard each had a goal and an assist for the Voltiguers (27-30-9), who have won back-to-back games, while Olivier Archambault, Guillaume Gauthier and Olivier Caouette scored a goal apiece.

Nikolas Brouillard and Michael Santini chipped in with two assists each.

Raphael Bussieres scored the lone goal for the Drakkar (28-32-5), who have dropped five straight contests.

Alexandre Veronneau made 17 saves for his first win since being acquired from the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles in December.

Phillippe Cadorette stopped 15 of 19 shots before getting pulled in the second period for Jimmy Appleby, who allowed two goals on 12 shots in relief.

Drummondville went 2 for 7 on the power play as Baie-Comeau failed to score on either of their opportunities with the man advantage.

Elsewhere in the QMJHL, it was: Cape Breton 5, P.E.I. 2 and Blainville-Boisbriand 4, Rimouski 2.

At Drummondville, Que., Bouvet-Morrissette opened the scoring, on the power play, at 16:53 of the first period.

Gauthier added another power-play goal at 18:32 to make it 2-0 Voltiguers after 20 minutes of action.

Brouillard and Caouette scored 36 seconds apart in early in the second period to double Drummondville's lead before Bussieres finally got Baie-Comeau on the board at 7:06.

Emond scored 3:07 into the third period and Archambault added one more late to secure the victory the Voltiguers.

At Sydney, N.S., Philippe Trudeau made 34 saves, earning the game`s first star, and Jonathan Brunelle had a goal and two assists as Cape Breton (23-39-3) beat P.E.I. (18-41-6) for the second time in as many nights.

At Boisbriand, Que., Tommy Giroux and Jess Tanguy scored goals 49 seconds apart late in the third period as the Armada (38-22-5) doubled up Rimouski (39-25-2) for their fifth win in their last six outings.
