QMJHL Roundup: A look at Friday's games @NHL

Kevin Gagne scored 3:08 into overtime as the Saint John Sea Dogs came from behind to beat the host Moncton Wildcats 4-3 on Friday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

The 20-year-old defenceman has scored in three straight outings and now has seven goals in his last seven games. Gagne leads all QMJHL defencemen with 10 goals, which is also a career high for the fourth-year player.

Rookie Jakub Izacky scored twice for the SeaDogs (16-16-0), who trailed 3-0 early in the second period before scoring four unanswered goals, while Ryan Tesink had three assists.

Stephen MacAulay had a goal and an assist for Saint John and Pierre Durepos chipped in with two assists.

Ryan Penny, Alex Saulnier and Ross Johnston scored for the Wildcats (21-11-1), while Penny added an assist for a two-point outing.

Sebastien Auger stopped 31-of-34 shots for his 15th victory of the season as Alex Dubeau made 24 saves in a losing cause.

Saint John went 2 for 5 on the power play while Moncton failed to score on either of its chances with the man advantage.

Elsewhere in the QMJHL, it was P.E.I. 5, Cape Breton 2; Halifax 4, Acadie-Bathurst 3; Baie-Comeau 6, Victoriaville 2; Sherbrooke 6, Drummondville 3; Rimouski 2, Chicoutimi 1; Rouyn-Noranda 5, Gatineau 3; Shawinigan 5, Quebec 4 (OT) and Val-d'Or 5, Blainville-Boisbriand 3.

At Moncton, N.B., Johnston scored at 15:17 of the opening period to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead.

Saulnier and Penny scored only 18 second apart to make it 3-0 for Moncton just 35 seconds into the second period.

MacAulay responded for Saint John with a power-play goal at 2:36 and Izacky tacked on another goal with the man advantage at 13:15 to make it 3-2 Wildcats after 40 minutes of play.

The Wildcats were six seconds away from pulling out the win before Izacky forced overtime at 19:54 of the third period with his second goal of the night.

At Sydney, N.S., Ben Duffy scored once and set up three more and Victor Provencher had two goals as P.E.I. (18-13-2) downed Cape Breton (8-21-6) to snap its three-game slide.

At Halifax, Chris Clarke stopped 34-of-37 shots and Andrew Ryan scored the winning goal while shorthanded as the Mooseheads (27-3-2) won for the sixth time in their last seven outings by beating Acadie-Bathurst (12-18-5).

At Baie-Comeau, Que., Thomas Gobeil had two goals and an assist and Gabryel Paquin-Boudreau scored once and set up two more as the Drakkar (21-10-3) won their third straight game by beating Victoriaville (13-15-6).


Phoenix 6 Voltiguers 3

At Drummondville, Que., Alexandre Comtois had two goals and an assist and Jacob Gervais-Chouinard made 28 saves as Sherbrooke (9-20-4) doubled up Drummondville (18-14-1).


Oceanic 2 Sagueneens 1

At Rimouski, Que., Francis Beauvillier and Frederik Gauthier each scored as the Oceanic (21-10-4) slipped past Chicoutimi (16-16-3) to extend their win streak to four games.


Huskies 5 Olympiques 3

At Gatineau, Que., Francis Perron had two goals and an assist and Gabriel Desjardins had a goal and three assists as Rouyn-Noranda (22-10-1) picked up its fourth-straight victory by downing the Olympiques (12-19-1).


Cataractes 5 Remparts 4 (OT)

At Shawinigan, Que., JC Campagna scored three times, including the winner 1:43 into overtime, and Vincent Arsenault had a goal and an assist as the Cataractes (7-23-3) edged Quebec (22-8-3) for their first win in three outings.


Foreurs 5 Armada 3

At Val-d'Or, Que., Francois Tremblay stopped 36-of-39 shots and the Foreurs (16-15-3) scored three straight third-period goals to come from behind and beat Blainville-Boisbriand (22-7-4).
