QMJHL Roundup: A look at Friday's games @NHLdotcom

A lack of post-season experience doesn't seem to be an issue for rookie Nathan MacKinnon.

In his first career playoff game, the 16-year-old scored twice and set up one more as the Halifax Mooseheads opened their first-round match-up against the visiting Moncton Wildcats with a 5-1 victory on Friday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action.

Martin Frk also had two goals and an assist for the Mooseheads, who won just two of six regular-season meetings with Moncton, while Jonathan Drouin added a single goal.

Alexandre Grenier chipped in with two assists.

James Melindy scored the lone goal for the Wildcats, who came in to post-season play as losers of seven of their last 10 regular-season contests.

Zachary Fucale made 17 saves for his first career playoff win while Roman Will, the much busier of the two netminders, turned away 35 shots in defeat.

Halifax went 2 for 6 on the power play as Moncton scored once on four chances with the man advantage.

These two squads will face each other again on Saturday when Halifax hosts Moncton for Game 2.
